Connection timed out (WSAETIMEDOUT) (code=10060) error. How can I resolve it?

Our OpenVPN tunnels are deployed on variety of different ports, but not all of them might be allowed/opened by your local firewall, your Internet service provider or your government. As a result, some users are facing an error with their OpenVPN client when they try to access our tunnels via blocked ports. The error is generally as follows:

Connection timed out (WSAETIMEDOUT) (code=10060)

In order to resolve this error, you need to either open the OpenVPN port you are currently trying to connect through, or switch your current OpenVPN port to an alternative one we serve. The full list of all our OpenVPN ports is available below:

TCP 80
TCP 110
TCP 443
TCP 843
UDP 53
UDP 1194
UDP 1443
UDP 8080
UDP 9201

You can edit any .ovpn configuration file in order to change the port. In order to achieve that, simply edit the .ovpn file with Notepad or any text editor. Locate the line where it says "remote ip port" such as "remote 443" and change the last digits by the port you wish to use.

We may also deploy OpenVPN on any TCP or UDP custom port you wish, for a reasonable additional fee accompanied a minimum commitment of one year on your package. To do that, just contact our sales team.
