I cannot access my email server while connected to VPN.

If you're unable to send emails when connected to proxy.sh VPN tunnels, this is because we're blocking outgoing email servers (SMTP) by standard to prevent abuse and spam. All you need to do is simply to go to the Email Control section and input there the SMTP server and port you would like to send emails through. If you still encounter an issue sending emails even after having specified your email servers in the Email Control, please contact our technical team.

Not recommended but, please note also that it's possible to "unroute" traffic between your computer and a certain IP, which means that all traffic with that IP gets transferred with your standard internet connection and real IP, while connected to the VPN.

This makes sense, for example, if you're unable to send emails on a VPN server, but don't want to use other servers. For that, open cmd.exe in Windows to get into a terminal windows.

Here, enter "route print". It will then show you the gateway IP of your router. When wanting to e.g. force routing of all traffic with your SMTP server through your standard gateway, enter

    route add XX.XX.XXX.XXX 192.168.0.1

Where XX.XX.XXX.XXXX is the IP of the SMTP server, and 192.168.0.1 is the IP of your gateway router/DSL-Modem.

On Mac and Linux, this command should be

sudo route -nv add -net XX.XX.XXX.XXX -interface utun0
    sudo route change default 192.168.0.1

Where XX.XX.XXX.XXXX is the IP of the SMTP server, and 192.168.0.1 is the IP of your gateway router/DSL-Modem.
